Key Responsibilities

The Financial Administrator / Bookkeeper will be responsible for a wide range of financial and administrative duties, ensuring that financial data is accurate, up to date, and properly recorded.

Financial Processing and Reconciliations

  • Process and reconcile debtors and creditors accurately and timeously.
  • Capture, review, and reconcile wages, inventory, and general financial transactions.
  • Ensure all financial entries comply with internal controls and company procedures.
  • Identify discrepancies and follow up to ensure corrections are made promptly.

Journals and Monthly Financial Support

  • Prepare and process monthly journals in line with accounting requirements.
  • Assist with month-end processes by ensuring that all financial data is complete and accurate.
  • Support senior finance staff with financial reporting and audit preparation when required.

Payroll and Wage Data Processing

  • Process wage-related data, including clocking information, allocations, and adjustments.
  • Ensure wage data is captured accurately and submitted within required timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with payroll-related information.

Financial Administration and Record Keeping

  • Provide general financial administrative support to the finance department.
  • Maintain well-organised, accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all financial information is filed correctly and easily accessible for review.

Logistics and Operational Tracking

  • Monitor logistics-related financial activity by tracking incoming orders and outgoing deliveries.
  • Ensure that logistics data aligns with financial records and inventory figures.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies or missing information.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric certificate with a relevant tertiary qualification, or
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in a financial administration or bookkeeping role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with accounting systems and financial software.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
