Fidelity ADT is seeking a qualified and experienced Hybrid Technician to join the team in Brits. This role combines installation and service responsibilities, requiring a technically skilled professional with strong fault-finding abilities and solid experience in alarm systems and related security technologies.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Supervisor: Service and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, programming, and repairing domestic alarm systems while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company standards.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
  • Proven experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding

Job Requirements and Additional Attributes

  • Valid driver’s licence (essential)
  • PSIRA registration (Grade C)
  • Knowledge of Listener (advantageous)
  • Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Texecom alarm systems
  • Basic knowledge of CCTV, intercom systems, and access control (advantageous)
  • Willingness to work standby according to duty schedules

Main Purpose of the Role

The Hybrid Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of domestic alarm systems, including on-site programming and testing. The role also involves performing basic fault-finding and installing radio communication devices. The technician must ensure all installations and repairs meet company standards and industry compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance

  • Conduct service calls, maintenance, and repairs on alarm systems
  • Install and program alarm panels
  • Re-program alarm systems during client takeovers
  • Complete link-ups for new clients
  • Quote clients on system upgrades
  • Perform basic installation of radio communication devices

Administration and Reporting

  • Complete invoices and job cards after every service call
  • Finalise job reports and technical invoices
  • Prepare and submit daily drive sheets
  • Complete stock control checks
  • Provide quotations and handovers to clients

Client Service and Professional Conduct

  • Treat all clients with respect and professionalism
  • Assist with customer complaints or operational issues
  • Maintain neatness and wear full company uniform at all times

Vehicle and Equipment Management

  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is roadworthy and clean
  • Inspect the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the office or hub
  • Conduct vehicle, electrical, and ladder inspection checks
  • Report all faults to the Senior Supervisor: Installations
  • Maintain company tools and equipment in good working order
