Job Overview

A well-established agricultural and production-focused organisation in the Overberg region is seeking a Quality Controller to support and strengthen its quality assurance and compliance processes. This position is ideal for a detail-orientated individual who takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and structured work environments.

The role operates within a hands-on production and agricultural setting and plays a critical part in ensuring that raw materials, processes, and final products meet required quality, safety, and internal standards. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and management to ensure that quality control systems are implemented correctly and maintained on a daily basis.

Working Environment

The role is based in Riviersonderend, within the Overberg region of the Western Cape. The working environment is production-driven and operational in nature, with a strong emphasis on quality control, data accuracy, health and safety compliance, and procedural discipline.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an agricultural or production setting and be physically able to perform hands-on inspections and related operational tasks.


Key Responsibilities

The Quality Controller will be responsible for a broad range of quality-related duties, including but not limited to the following:

  • Conducting quality control inspections on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products
  • Ensuring that all quality checks are performed in accordance with internal standards, procedures, and specifications
  • Accurately recording inspection results, measurements, and findings in quality control documentation
  • Maintaining up-to-date quality records and ensuring that documentation is complete, accurate, and easily retrievable
  • Monitoring and supporting health and safety systems within the production environment
  • Ensuring compliance with internal quality standards, operational procedures, and safety requirements
  • Identifying deviations, defects, or non-conformances and reporting findings clearly and professionally
  • Communicating quality issues to relevant departments and supporting corrective actions where required
  • Working consistently within structured daily routines and established quality processes
  • Assisting with audits, inspections, or reviews related to quality and safety where necessary

The role requires a methodical approach, strong discipline, and the ability to follow procedures consistently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:

  • Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Own transport or reliable access to travel to and from the workplace
  • Physically active and able to perform operational and inspection-related duties
  • Willingness to work in a production and agricultural environment

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

The following will be considered an advantage, but are not strictly required:

  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or a related field
  • Previous experience or exposure to the agricultural sector
  • Experience in quality control, quality assurance, or production environments
  • Familiarity with health and safety systems and basic compliance requirements
