Job Overview
Advtech, through its Emeris Westville Campus, is inviting applications for a Part-Time Lecturer within the School of Computer Science. The successful candidate will lecture the module User Interface Design and Usability (UIDU8412).

Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver engaging and high-quality lectures in User Interface Design and Usability, while supporting student learning, development, and academic success.
Key Performance Areas
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver lectures in User Interface Design and Usability (UIDU8412)
- Facilitate an engaging and interactive learning environment
- Apply practical and theoretical knowledge in teaching
Student Support
- Guide and mentor students academically
- Support student development and performance
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Professional Conduct
- Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills
- Maintain professionalism and high academic standards
- Manage time and responsibilities effectively
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology OR
- NQF Level 9 qualification with IT-related subjects
Minimum Experience
- Lecturing experience in databases and/or programming
OR - Industry experience as:
- Software Developer
- Application Developer
- Mobile Programmer
Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation abilities
- Assertiveness and confidence in a teaching environment
- Understanding of customer service in education
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Working Conditions
- Part-time position
- Lectures scheduled between 08:00 and 17:00
- Based at Westville Campus, KwaZulu-Natal
