About the Opportunity
Signature Cosmetics is seeking two motivated and technically skilled IT Service Desk Administrators to join the Head Office team in Edenvale.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in IT support, service desk operations, troubleshooting, and customer support within a fast-paced business environment.
The successful candidates will provide first-line technical support and assist with resolving IT-related incidents while ensuring operational efficiency and excellent service delivery.
Main Purpose of the Role
The IT Service Desk Administrator will be responsible for:
- Providing first-line technical support
- Resolving IT incidents and service desk queries
- Supporting desktop, laptop, and Point of Sale systems
- Assisting with workstation setup and configuration
- Escalating unresolved issues when necessary
- Supporting operational excellence within the IT environment
Key Responsibilities
Service Desk and Technical Support
The successful candidate will:
- Respond to customer calls and logged incidents
- Process service desk requests accurately and efficiently
- Resolve technical issues within agreed service levels
- Escalate unresolved incidents appropriately
- Provide feedback to users regarding unresolved issues
Hardware and Software Support
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with workstation setup
- Configuring computers, routers, printers, and software
- Supporting servers, desktops, laptops, and telephones
- Assisting with password resets and security updates
- Supporting application deployments
Troubleshooting and Operational Support
The role also includes:
- Troubleshooting connectivity and operational issues
- Supporting disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Assisting during major incidents and system changes
- Identifying operational risks and helping to mitigate them
Communication and Customer Service
The successful candidate will also:
- Maintain professional relationships with users and stakeholders
- Keep stakeholders informed about incidents and progress
- Address customer frustrations professionally
- Share technical knowledge and lessons learned with team members
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Service Desk or Help Desk Administrator
- Experience supporting desktops, laptops, and Point of Sale systems
Advantageous Qualifications
The following will be beneficial:
- IT certificates
- Relevant IT Degree such as BCom or BSc
- Retail industry IT support experience
