Role Overview
This role is within the Risk, Governance and Integration Division of Lesedi, focused on managing end-to-end tender and proposal development processes for engineering and construction bids.
The position plays a critical role in securing new EPC projects by ensuring that all proposals are complete, compliant, competitive, and submitted on time.
Core Purpose
To lead and coordinate the full proposal lifecycle—from tender evaluation to submission—ensuring high-quality, compliant, and competitive bids that align with client requirements and internal business capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal Project Management
- Review and analyse tender documents in detail
- Identify all required returnable documents
- Assign responsibilities across departments and stakeholders
- Compile and validate all required submission inputs
- Ensure adherence to internal tender processes and procedures
- Ensure all bids are completed and submitted before deadlines
2. Proposal Coordination
- Coordinate technical, commercial, legal, and operational inputs
- Drive internal teams responsible for tender deliverables
- Monitor progress of all proposal components
- Ensure completeness and compliance of submissions
- Support development and refinement of proposal content
- Collate final documentation into structured bid submissions
3. Stakeholder & Interface Management
- Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Track outstanding deliverables and follow up regularly
- Escalate risks, delays, and issues promptly
- Provide updates to the Proposals Manager
- Maintain professional communication with clients where required
4. Tender Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all submissions meet legal, technical, and commercial requirements
- Verify accuracy and completeness of tender returnables
- Maintain compliance with EPC tendering standards
- Ensure submissions align with NEC, FIDIC, or project-specific contract frameworks
5. Reporting & Tracking
- Monitor progress of all proposal activities
- Report status updates and risks to management
- Track deadlines and submission milestones
- Maintain structured documentation of all bids
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 3–7 years’ experience in tendering or proposals within engineering/EPC environment
- Valid driver’s licence
- Project management qualification (advantageous)
- Membership or eligibility with ECSA (advantageous)

- Strong understanding of tendering and procurement processes
- Ability to interpret complex tender documents accurately
- Project management and proposal coordination experience
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
- Adobe PDF proficiency
- Cost estimating knowledge (advantageous)
