Role Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a reliable and responsible Store Driver for its Worcester branch. The role focuses on the safe, timely, and professional delivery of goods to customers while maintaining high standards of service, accuracy, and vehicle care.

Core Purpose of the Role
To ensure efficient and secure delivery of pharmaceutical and retail products to customers while maintaining compliance with company procedures, road safety regulations, and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safe and Timely Deliveries
- Transport products safely to customer locations within required timeframes
- Ensure correct products are delivered to the correct customer
- Prioritise fridge line deliveries using cooler boxes and cold packs
- Use the most efficient and shortest delivery routes
- Return to store promptly after each delivery for operational efficiency
2. Customer Service & Professional Conduct
- Provide courteous and professional service during deliveries
- Build positive relationships with customers through reliable service
- Handle customer interactions in a respectful and professional manner
- Report customer complaints, compliments, and queries to management
3. Stock Handling & Delivery Accuracy
- Ensure correct handling of fragile and hazardous goods
- Verify invoices, delivery notes, and customer details before delivery
- Ensure all delivery documentation is signed and correctly completed
- Return collections, store returns, and inter-branch items properly checked and signed
4. Vehicle Care & Compliance
- Inspect vehicle before, during, and after trips for safety and defects
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbook records
- Keep vehicle clean and in good working condition at all times
- Comply with all company vehicle policies and procedures
- Report accidents, incidents, or defects immediately to management
- Take responsibility for traffic fines related to assigned vehicle
5. Safety & Legal Compliance
- Adhere to National Road Traffic Act regulations at all times
- Ensure safe handling of goods during transport and delivery
- Never leave vehicle unattended during delivery process
- Follow health and safety standards when lifting and moving stock
- Report any suspicious or unsafe behaviour when required
6. Operational Support
- Assist with dispatch-related functions when required
- Ensure all invoices are correctly recorded and signed
- Maintain delivery logs accurately and consistently
- Support store operations by improving delivery efficiency
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to work retail hours, shifts, and weekends
Advantageous Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar delivery or driver role
- Knowledge of delivery logistics and retail operations
- Bilingual communication skills
