The RC Online division is focused on digital student acquisition and online engagement. The organisation is seeking a driven Sales Team Leader to guide and develop Student Advisors while supporting student recruitment and brand growth.
This role combines leadership, sales performance management, and student engagement responsibilities within a fast-paced education environment.
Job Purpose
The Team Leader is responsible for leading and supervising Student Advisors to ensure strong student acquisition outcomes across regions. The role ensures that sales teams operate effectively, meet targets, and deliver accurate course information to prospective students.
Approximately 80% of the role is supervisory, while 20% involves direct sales activity such as student consultations.
Key Responsibilities
Student Experience and Service Quality
- Promote a student-centred service culture
- Track Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) scores and improve service delivery
- Identify training needs and implement targeted development plans
- Conduct regular feedback surveys and improve student experience
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
- Drive service excellence initiatives across the team
Sales Growth and Performance
- Lead Student Advisors to achieve enrolment targets
- Monitor sales performance trends and adjust strategies accordingly
- Ensure consistent product and course training across the team
- Implement motivation, reward, and recognition initiatives
- Support team engagement through structured team-building activities
Staff Development and Leadership
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and continuous performance feedback
- Support onboarding and training of new staff members
- Conduct performance management support sessions
- Assist in staff retention and career development planning
- Ensure alignment with institutional goals and standards
Technology and Data Management
- Support digitisation of communication and call systems
- Use CRM and analytics tools to monitor performance
- Analyse data insights to improve sales effectiveness
- Assist in improving system efficiency and reporting tools
- Support implementation of call monitoring systems
Operational Management and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with student data protection regulations
- Maintain and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor call handling quality and reduce abandonment rates
- Ensure proper escalation processes for complaints
- Improve overall operational efficiency through process improvements
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Marketing, Sales, or related field
OR - Certificate in Sales or related discipline
Advantageous:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, or related field
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in a target-driven sales environment
- 1–2 years’ supervisory or team leadership experience
