Role Overview
This Programme Manager role is within the banking sector, supporting a large-scale transformation programme in Transactional Services for a major financial institution, delivered through Praesignis (Pty) Ltd.
The role carries end-to-end accountability for the delivery of complex, cross-functional programmes spanning business, technology, operations, risk, and compliance.
Core Purpose
To ensure successful delivery of strategic transformation programmes by aligning execution with business objectives, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring measurable benefits across Transactional Services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale banking transformation programmes
- Develop and maintain programme roadmaps, milestones, and dependencies
- Manage scope, timelines, budgets, and quality outcomes
- Ensure alignment between business strategy and delivery execution
2. Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Engage senior stakeholders across banking functions (IT, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance)
- Provide structured reporting to executive committees and steering committees
- Manage escalations, expectations, and decision-making forums
- Ensure clear communication across all levels of leadership
3. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Establish strong programme governance frameworks
- Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
- Ensure regulatory and audit compliance
- Identify and mitigate delivery and operational risks
4. Financial & Benefits Management
- Manage programme budgets and financial forecasts
- Track costs, savings, and benefits realization
- Support business case development and investment decisions
- Ensure financial accountability across workstreams
5. Change & Delivery Enablement
- Drive change management and adoption strategies
- Coordinate Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration across teams and vendors
- Support readiness and implementation planning

Minimum Requirements
Experience
- Proven delivery of large-scale banking or financial services programmes
- Experience in Transactional Services, Payments, Cash Management, or Core Banking
- Strong executive stakeholder management experience
- Multi-vendor programme management experience

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (BCom / BBA or equivalent)
