Role Overview
Hire Resolve is recruiting a high-performing SAIPA Graduate Accountant for a well-established accounting, tax, and advisory firm based in Menlo Park, Pretoria. The firm operates in a technology-driven environment focused on developing future-focused accountants through exposure to advanced systems, cloud-based tools, and advisory work.
This role is designed for candidates who have recently completed their SAIPA training contract and are looking for structured professional development, strong mentorship, and long-term career growth within a modern accounting practice.
Core Purpose
To support the delivery of high-quality accounting, auditing, taxation, and advisory services while gaining practical exposure to client engagements, financial reporting, and compliance work in a professional accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting Services
- Prepare financial statements and management accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Support bookkeeping and financial record maintenance
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
2. Auditing & Assurance
- Participate in audit and assurance engagements
- Assist with audit planning, execution, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with professional auditing standards
- Support documentation and audit file preparation
3. Taxation Support
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns
- Support tax compliance processes and calculations
- Gain exposure to tax planning and advisory work
- Assist with SARS eFiling submissions
4. Client Engagement
- Participate in client meetings and discussions
- Liaise with clients regarding financial and accounting matters
- Provide professional communication and support to stakeholders
- Assist in resolving client queries
5. Systems & Technology Utilisation
- Work within cloud-based accounting systems
- Use advanced accounting and audit software tools
- Apply Caseware and related financial systems effectively
- Support digital transformation processes within the firm
6. Compliance & Professional Standards
- Ensure adherence to SAIPA, IFRS, and auditing standards
- Maintain confidentiality and data security standards
- Follow internal firm policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Completed SAIPA accredited BCom degree (or near completion)
- Completion of SAIPA training contract (advantageous)
- Strong academic record (required)
- Valid SA driver’s licence
- Own reliable vehicle
- Residency in or near Pretoria (Menlo Park commuting required)
Technical Requirements
- Advanced Caseware experience (essential)
- Proficiency in tax software and SARS eFiling
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Understanding of accounting and audit principles
- Exposure to cloud-based accounting systems (advantageous)
