Role Overview

The Store Leader is responsible for the full operational management of the store, ensuring strong financial performance, excellent customer service, and effective team leadership. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive sales, manage store operations efficiently, and create a motivating and high-performing retail environment.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the store meets its targets while maintaining brand standards and delivering an exceptional shopping experience.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Financial Performance

  • Drive the achievement of annual, monthly, and daily sales targets
  • Monitor store performance and implement strategies to exceed budgets
  • Manage store profitability by controlling costs and improving efficiencies
  • Oversee financial processes and ensure accurate reporting

Stock & Merchandising Management

  • Ensure adherence to visual merchandising standards in line with brand requirements
  • Maintain an optimal product mix to maximise sales opportunities
  • Manage stock levels effectively to reduce shrinkage and prevent stock losses
  • Identify and mitigate stock-related risks

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
  • Ensure the store environment is welcoming, engaging, and aligned with brand identity
  • Address customer needs efficiently and professionally
  • Continuously improve the overall customer journey within the store

Team Leadership & Human Resource Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop store staff
  • Manage staff scheduling, payroll, and performance processes
  • Inspire, motivate, and hold team members accountable for results
  • Foster a positive team culture aligned with company values
  • Create a dynamic and enjoyable working environment

Operations & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Maintain health and safety standards within the store
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day store operations

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Store Management
  • At least 8 years’ experience within the retail industry
  • Proven experience managing a large retail store with turnover exceeding R20 million annually
