Job Overview
Juru Holdings is seeking a Junior Developer to join its growing team in Stellenbosch. The company operates within the financial services technology space, focusing on secure payment solutions and transaction processing systems.
This role is suited to a developer with 2–3 years of experience who is ready to contribute to system development, client integrations, and continuous system improvements in a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Enhancement
- Develop new system features and enhancements
- Maintain and improve existing applications
- Contribute to system design and technical improvements
- Participate in continuous integration and development cycles
Client Integration & Support
- Assist with technical integration of new clients into existing systems
- Provide 3rd line support and resolve technical queries
- Ensure smooth onboarding of client systems into production environments
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct development testing and system validation
- Assist in identifying and fixing bugs and system issues
- Support system stability and performance improvements
System Maintenance & Security
- Perform ongoing system fixes and maintenance
- Assist with system security checks and audits
- Ensure systems comply with internal technical standards
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work with senior developers to improve coding standards and processes
- Contribute to better development workflows and practices
- Participate in Agile development environments
Required Skills & Technologies
- Tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, or Engineering
- 2–3 years’ software development experience
- Strong proficiency in:
- Java (Standard & Enterprise Editions)
- Spring Boot
- SQL (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
- Experience with:
- Eclipse / NetBeans IDEs
- Maven
- Git
- Continuous integration and testing environments
- OpenAPI protocols
Advantageous Experience
- Exposure to financial transaction processing systems
- Experience with high-volume, real-time systems
- Knowledge of Postilion development (source/sink node development)
- Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
- Front-end development experience using Angular
