Job Overview
A leading payment aggregator and provider of secure payment solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join their expanding technical team. This hybrid role is based in Stellenbosch and requires occasional in-office attendance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining secure and high-performance payment systems while contributing to continuous improvement of development practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical integration of new clients into existing systems
- Develop, test, and maintain current applications and platforms
- Implement system fixes, enhancements, and new features
- Design and develop new system functionality in line with business requirements
- Provide 3rd line support for complex system issues and query resolution
- Ensure system security standards are maintained and support audit requirements
- Continuously improve development processes, tools, and methodologies
- Contribute to team leadership and mentor junior developers
- Work within a collaborative development environment to deliver scalable solutions
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years’ professional software development experience
- Strong experience in Java (Standard and Enterprise Editions), including Spring Boot
- Solid knowledge of SQL databases (MS SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL)
- Experience with development tools such as Eclipse or NetBeans, Maven, and Git
- Experience working in CI/CD and automated testing environments
- Understanding of OpenAPI specifications and integration standards
Advantageous Skills
- Exposure to financial transaction processing systems
- Experience with high-volume, real-time, multi-threaded systems
- Knowledge of Postilion development (source/sink node development)
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
- Front-end development experience using Angular framework
