Job Overview
Prestige Cosmetics Group is seeking a passionate, skilled, and customer-focused Make-Up Artist to join the NARS team in Sandton on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales performance, strengthening brand presence, and delivering professional make-up artistry services that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver an exceptional customer experience that drives sales growth and profitability while maintaining high operational and brand standards. The Make-Up Artist will also contribute to building the NARS brand image through expert product knowledge, artistry, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance & Business Growth
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as set by management
- Promote make-up products as a core driver of sales performance
- Support promotional events, launches, and in-store activations
- Provide timely feedback on sales trends and customer concerns
Brand Representation & Standards
- Maintain strong awareness of competitor activity and beauty industry trends
- Ensure strict compliance with brand guidelines, hygiene, and safety standards
- Uphold consistent brand presentation and professional image standards
- Maintain security and asset control procedures at all times
Stock & Store Operations
- Ensure correct merchandising according to brand planograms
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or out-of-stock items
- Assist with stock control, administration, and loss prevention
- Follow all operational procedures and point-of-sale processes
Customer Experience Excellence
- Deliver personalised consultations and exceptional service to all clients
- Build strong customer relationships and encourage customer loyalty
- Provide professional make-up demonstrations and product education
- Share expert advice, trends, and application techniques
- Support CRM initiatives and grow the customer database
Team Collaboration
- Work effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth store operations
- Support team members during events and daily operations
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new staff when required
- Contribute positively to team morale and brand culture
Administration & Reporting
- Complete daily sales tracking sheets and reports accurately
- Assist management with operational and retail reporting requirements
- Support store leadership with administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in cosmetics retail environment
- At least 3 years’ advanced make-up artistry experience
- A recognised Certificate in Make-Up Artistry (compulsory)
- Strong knowledge of current beauty trends and product techniques
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work weekends, retail hours, and shifts as required
- Own reliable transport
