Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Deliver excellent customer service through active engagement and product knowledge
- Apply effective selling techniques to meet customer needs
- Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and compliments professionally
- Provide accurate product advice and recommendations
Sales Performance
- Achieve individual sales targets consistently
- Identify opportunities to increase store turnover through upselling and cross-selling
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all sales transactions
Cashier & Transaction Handling
- Process payments including cash, card, vouchers, and coupons
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions
- Scan and process outgoing stock correctly
- Assist with loyalty programme administration where required
Stock & Merchandising Control
- Support stock accuracy and loss prevention processes
- Ensure merchandise is correctly displayed according to store standards
- Maintain clean, organised, and well-presented stock areas
- Assist with replenishment of stock on the sales floor
Store Presentation & Customer Experience
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards at all times
- Contribute to an engaging and welcoming store environment
- Ensure product displays enhance customer experience and drive sales
- Support overall brand image through store presentation
Compliance & Loss Prevention
- Adhere to company policies regarding stock control and security
- Follow cash handling procedures strictly
- Support loss prevention initiatives within the store
Teamwork & Store Support
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals
- Support colleagues where necessary to ensure smooth operations
- Report operational issues to management promptly
- Contribute positively to team morale and performance
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
- Up to 6 months retail experience
Advantageous Requirements
- 1 year retail experience
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of outdoor, travel, or safari-related products
Special Conditions of Employment
- Clear criminal and credit record
- Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- South African citizenship required
