Role Overview
Faircape Health operates six premium healthcare facilities within luxury retirement villages across the Western Cape. The organisation delivers full-spectrum care services focused on dignity, comfort, and clinical excellence for elderly residents.
The Care Coordinator is a key supervisory role responsible for supporting shift operations, guiding the care team, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred care delivery at Tokai Estate.
Core Purpose
To support the Carer Supervisor in coordinating daily care activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of resident care, documentation, and compliance within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Supervision & Coordination
- Oversee carers during shifts and ensure correct allocation to resident areas
- Guide carers to follow care plans and daily routines
- Support staff with care duties when required
- Address staff queries and provide on-the-job guidance
2. Quality of Care & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to care plans and facility procedures
- Monitor and report non-compliance to the Carer Supervisor
- Conduct weekly spot checks on resident rooms and equipment
- Ensure infection control standards are consistently followed
- Support quality checks and continuous care improvement
3. Resident Monitoring & Communication
- Observe and report changes in resident conditions
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately to shift leadership
- Ensure timely response to call/panic systems
- Maintain accurate communication between shifts
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure accurate daily charting by carers
- Submit detailed shift handover reports
- Maintain proper documentation of incidents and care activities
- Ensure administrative records are updated and complete
5. Equipment & Supplies Management
- Ensure availability of essential care supplies (e.g., toiletries, nappies)
- Oversee proper distribution and storage of care equipment
- Maintain organisation and control of care resources
6. Staff Support & Development
- Identify training gaps and escalate to management
- Support onboarding and guidance of care staff
- Motivate team members and promote a positive working environment
- Assist in resolving team challenges and operational issues
7. Resident Experience & Wellbeing
- Support carers in delivering compassionate and respectful care
- Ensure residents’ dignity, comfort, and wellbeing are prioritised
- Monitor grooming and presentation standards where required
- Contribute to a safe and supportive living environment
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10–12
- Care-related qualification (advantageous)
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Experience working in elderly care (advantageous)
- Basic computer and administrative skills

Working Conditions
- Shift-based role (Monday to Sunday roster)
- Approximately 16 night shifts per month (19h00–07h00)
- Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays
