Job Overview
Motus Corporation is seeking a Qualified Technician to join Kia South Africa at their Fourways-based service division. The role focuses on delivering high-quality vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and technical support within a fast-paced automotive workshop environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate fault diagnosis, efficient vehicle servicing, and maintaining manufacturer standards while supporting overall workshop productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics & Technical Work
- Perform advanced diagnostic work on vehicles as directed by the Foreman
- Carry out fault finding to support efficient and accurate vehicle servicing
- Ensure repairs are completed within manufacturer time standards and efficiency targets
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and technical accuracy
Customer & Service Interaction
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle issues
- Provide clear and professional explanations of faults and repairs to customers when required
- Ensure vehicles are returned to customers in clean and roadworthy condition
Workshop Standards & Compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to vehicle safety and care standards
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations at all times
- Ensure compliance with OEM service procedures and requirements
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with workshop standards
Documentation & Administration
- Complete job cards, service documentation, and related administrative forms
- Draft technical reports where required
- Ensure accurate recording of findings and repair work
Training & Development
- Complete all OEM training requirements (online, classroom, and practical)
- Stay updated with manufacturer systems and diagnostic tools
- Mentor apprentices and assist with technical development (where applicable)
- Evaluate and sign off apprentice logbooks
Team & Business Support
- Work collaboratively with workshop teams and other departments
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Participate in marketing or brand-related campaigns when required
- Perform any additional duties reasonably related to the role
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Automotive Technician certification
- 3–5 years post-qualification experience as a Technician
- Kia brand experience advantageous
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence
- Experience with OEM diagnostic equipment and systems
Technical Skills Required
- Strong vehicle diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Competency with manufacturer diagnostic tools and software
- Strong mechanical insight and technical understanding
- Ability to interpret technical information and service data
- Strong problem-solving ability
