Job Overview
RPO Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established structural engineering consultancy in Pretoria. This is a senior-level opportunity suited for a highly experienced Structural BIM Modeler / Technician with strong technical expertise in modelling and draughting.
The role is ideal for professionals who are confident working independently, while also contributing effectively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team on complex structural projects.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modelling & Draughting
- Develop detailed structural BIM models for various projects
- Produce high-quality technical drawings and construction documentation
- Model reinforced concrete and structural steel structures accurately
Reinforcement Detailing
- Prepare and interpret reinforcement detailing drawings
- Ensure all detailing complies with engineering specifications and standards
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve design and detailing issues
Software & Technical Tools
- Use industry-standard software including:
- Revit (essential)
- AutoCAD (essential)
- Apply advanced BIM techniques for coordination and design optimisation
- Work with additional tools such as CadsRC (advantageous)
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders
- Ensure alignment between design intent and model outputs
- Contribute to multidisciplinary project coordination
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables
- Ensure drawings and models meet project standards and deadlines
- Organise and manage project documentation efficiently
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in structural BIM modelling and draughting
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (essential)
- Extensive experience with reinforced concrete and structural steel modelling
- Reinforcement detailing experience
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Fluent in Afrikaans (written and verbal)
- Valid driver’s license
- Own reliable transport
Advantageous Skills
- Experience using CadsRC
- Exposure to complex, multi-disciplinary structural projects
