Job Overview
RPO Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a reputable structural engineering consultancy based in Pretoria. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated Structural Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience who is looking to grow within a technically strong and collaborative consulting environment.
The role offers exposure to a variety of structural engineering projects, providing a solid platform for professional development and career progression within the consulting sector.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Analysis
- Perform structural design and analysis for a range of projects
- Apply engineering principles to ensure safe and efficient structural solutions
- Work with various materials and structural systems
Project Involvement
- Participate in multiple projects from concept through to completion
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and project teams
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards
Software & Technical Tools
- Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for drafting and modelling
- Apply engineering software tools such as:
- Tekla Structural Designer
- Prokon
- AutoCAD
- Revit (advantageous)
Compliance & Standards
- Apply structural design codes, including Eurocode (beneficial)
- Ensure all designs meet regulatory and safety requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 2–5 years’ experience in structural engineering
- Strong background in structural design and analysis
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Fluent in Afrikaans (written and verbal)
- Valid driver’s license
- Own reliable transport
Advantageous Skills
- Experience with Eurocode design standards
- Proficiency in Tekla Structural Designer, Prokon, and AutoCAD
- Exposure to Revit
