Job Overview
RPO Recruitment is currently recruiting a Quality Electrical Supervisor for a Solar PV project based in the Vaal Triangle. This fixed-term role is suited to an experienced electrical professional with a background in construction, installations, and quality inspections within energy or EPC environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all electrical works are executed in accordance with approved standards, specifications, and inspection procedures.
Project Context
This opportunity is within a renewable energy project environment, focusing on Solar PV systems. The role involves working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and site personnel to maintain quality standards throughout the installation and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspections
- Conduct routine site inspections and field surveillance of electrical installations
- Verify compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
- Ensure all work meets required electrical standards and specifications
Electrical Installation Oversight
- Monitor installation of cabling, terminations, and electrical panels
- Inspect glanding, labelling, cable tray and trench installations
- Oversee alignment and installation of electrical equipment
Systems Monitoring
- Ensure proper implementation of systems including:
- MV/LV AC electrical systems
- DC systems
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Protection and control systems
- Collector networks and auxiliary power supplies
Testing & Verification
- Participate in and verify basic electrical testing such as:
- Insulation Resistance (IR) testing
- Continuity testing
- Ensure testing procedures are conducted correctly and documented
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma, BTech, or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering
- 2–4 years’ experience in electrical construction or installation
- Exposure to cabling, terminations, panel installation, and testing
- Experience in industrial or commercial electrical environments
- Valid driver’s license

- Knowledge of EPC project environments (advantageous)
