Overview of the Opportunity
VKB Group is inviting applications for the position of Grain Grader at their Tweeling operation. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in building a career within South Africa’s agricultural and grain handling sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that grain is graded accurately according to statutory regulations and industry standards, while also supporting stock control, administrative processes, and food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Grain Grading & Quality Control
- Perform grading of grain products in line with regulatory standards
- Conduct daily grading of incoming and outgoing raw materials
- Verify grain quality and identify any discrepancies
- Carry out weekly grain stock confirmations
Equipment & Operational Support
- Ensure grading equipment is functional, properly maintained, and calibrated
- Report any equipment faults or quality concerns to senior staff
- Support general operational processes within the grain department
Administration & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate stock control records and documentation
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly administrative reports
- Capture data on VKB’s internal grain management system
- Administer employee leave and overtime records on PRP
Compliance & Safety
- Assist with administrative processes related to health and safety
- Maintain HACCP file systems to ensure food safety compliance
- Support the Safety Management System in line with legislative requirements
Customer Service & Support
- Ensure processes are followed to minimise customer complaints
- Provide support to ensure client service standards are maintained
- Address and escalate issues where necessary
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- 1–3 years’ experience in grain grading
- Grain Grading Certificate (advantageous)
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of Business Central (advantageous)
- Clear criminal record
- Traceable references
